Dominican Republic
|
Tourism has recently grown very quickly in Dominican Republic, making this beautiful island one of the most researched destination in the Caribbean; and after mass tourism a few years ago, high end and luxury projects are now the main trend of Hispaniola.
The north coast, and especially Las Terrenas, was preserved from the invasion of extensive all-inclusive resorts and today offers a good vision of the island sensible and ecological development : selected human size accomodation projects, upscale building strategies and quality contact with local populations with a respectful integration of tourism economy inside the local developping model.
|
Already famous for its endless sandy beaches, the Dominican Republic offers in Las Terrenas an even wider catalog of entertainment : beautiful lagoons, proximity with its charming inhabitants, close contact with local culture, numerous and quality services, quietness, exceptional vegetation, luxury, diversity of restaurants, etc.... everything you need, far away from the noisy and low-end excesses of the huge touristic complexes.
Less than 30 minutes away by plane from the capital, Santo Domingo or 30mn by car from the brand new Samana El Catey international airport, Las Terrenas is a peaceful relaxing place which will allows everybody to destress in a quiet and warm atmosphere.
Here the legendary hospitality of the Dominicans express itself better than anywhere else in the country and if you come to us for a few days, there is no doubt that you will come again and again, and again... Promised !
The weather
The Dominican Republic tropical weather allows tourism all year long.
There are two seasons :
- summer (from may to september), warmer but more humid,
- winter (from october to april), with lower temperatures but fewer rainfalls.
The air (from 68°F to 90°F) and sea (from 77°F to 86°F) temperatures allow the Dominican Republic to be a fantastic tropical destination all year-round ! And Las Terrenas is specifically well gifted : protected by the Samana cordillera, it is well preserved from the main winds and atmospheric disturbances; and its equilibrated climate, contrary to the south coast, enables a rich a luxuriant vegetation.
